Football Honors for Orangemen

We learned earlier that Syracuse senior running back Delone Carter was chosen to participate in the East-West Shrine Game. Since 1925 the East-West Shrine Game has been played showcasing the nations top senior college football players, and is the longest running college football all-star game.

Now we learn that linebacker Doug Hogue and center Ryan Bartholomew have also been invited to participate in the 86th annual game, which will take place January 22nd at 4:00PM in the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fl. The game will be televised live on the NFL network.

In addition to the game, players and coaches tour a Shriners Children's Hospital before the game and the children and players participate in "games, crafts and other activities."

Furthermore, freshman field goal kicker Ross Krautman has been named a freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America. Krautman was tied for 2nd in the nation in field goal percentage and lead the Orangemen in scoring this past season with 84 points.
